Crimps & Crimp Tools

Unsure whether to use crimp sleeves or Gripples?

Some advantages (and disadvantages) of crimp sleeves:

Superior Strength: Achieve up to 90% of wire’s breaking strength, outperforming wire knots (60-70%) and often Gripples in high-load scenarios. Ideal for permanent, high-tension fences.

Cost-Effective: Cheaper per unit, especially figure-8 aluminum sleeves, making them economical for large fencing projects

Durability: Aluminum or grit-adhesive sleeves resist corrosion and provide a secure, permanent connection, ideal for long-term fences.

Proven for Insulators/Posts: Tests show crimp sleeves are superior for attaching wires to insulators or posts, reducing wear compared to knots

Requires a crimping tool and precise technique; improper crimping (over- or under-crimping) can lead to weak connections or wire damage.

Slower installation, especially for large projects requiring multiple crimps per sleeve. (can be overcome by using an electric Pro Crimp)

Permanent, non-adjustable connections limit flexibility for fence adjustments.
