Dig it! A good post hole spade should feel sturdy, cut through soil efficiently, and minimize physical strain. Our HD grafter comes in two handle lengths and is tough enough for the hardest, roughest ground.

Break it! You will need a long, heavy steel bar with a chisel, point or tamper end. Thrust the chisel end into the ground to break up compacted soil, clay, or small rocks. It’s also useful for prying out larger rocks

Ram it! If you’re digging holes and setting posts with concrete or gravel, a rammer with a tamping base is ideal for compacting.
